In November, the production of raw coal, crude oil, natural gas, and electricity in large-scale industries (hereinafter referred to as above-scale industries) showed steady growth.
I. Production of Raw Coal, Crude Oil, and Natural Gas and Related Information
Raw coal production showed stable growth. In November, the output of raw coal in above-scale industries was 430 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.8%; the average daily output was 14.266 million tons. Coal imports totaled 54.98 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 26.4%.
From January to November, the output of raw coal in above-scale industries was 4.32 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.2%. Coal imports totaled 490 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.8%.
Crude oil production maintained growth. In November, the output of crude oil in above-scale industries was 17.25 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.2%; the average daily output was 575,000 tons. Crude oil imports totaled 48.52 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.4%.
From January to November, the output of crude oil in above-scale industries was 194.92 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%. Crude oil imports totaled 505.59 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.9%.
Crude oil processing turned from a decrease to an increase. In November, the amount of crude oil processed in above-scale industries was 58.51 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.2%, compared to a decrease of 4.6% in October; the average daily processing was 1.95 million tons. From January to November, the amount of crude oil processed in above-scale industries was 649.1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.8%.
Natural gas production grew steadily. In November, the output of natural gas in above-scale industries was 20.7 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%; the average daily output was 690 million cubic meters. Natural gas imports totaled 10.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.8%.
From January to November, the output of natural gas in above-scale industries was 224.6 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 6.4%. Natural gas imports totaled 120.24 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.0%.
II. Electricity Production
Electricity production in above-scale industries showed steady growth. In November, the power generation in above-scale industries was 749.5 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 0.9%; the average daily power generation in above-scale industries was 24.98 billion kilowatt-hours. From January to November, the power generation in above-scale industries was 8568.7 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 5.0%.
By category, in November, the growth rate of thermal power and solar power generation in above-scale industries slowed down, the decline in hydropower narrowed, the growth rate of nuclear power accelerated, and wind power turned from growth to decline. Specifically, thermal power generation in above-scale industries increased by 1.4% year-on-year, a decrease of 0.4 percentage points compared to October; hydropower generation in above-scale industries decreased by 1.9%, a decrease of 13.0 percentage points compared to October; nuclear power generation in above-scale industries increased by 3.1%, an increase of 0.9 percentage points compared to October; wind power generation in above-scale industries decreased by 3.3%, compared to a growth of 34.0% in October; and solar power generation in above-scale industries increased by 10.3%, a decrease of 2.3 percentage points compared to October.

Average daily product output: Calculated by dividing the total output of above-scale industrial enterprises announced in the month by the number of calendar days in that month.
2. Statistical Scope
The output data in this report are statistically based on above-scale industries, which includes industrial enterprises with annual main business income of 20 million yuan or more.
As the scope of above-scale industrial enterprises changes every year, to ensure the comparability of data this year and last year, the same period data used to calculate the year-on-year growth rate of product output and other indicators is consistent with the statistical scope of enterprises in the current period, and there is a difference in scope compared with the data published last year.
3. Data Source
Import data comes from the General Administration of Customs, and the data for November 2024 is preliminary data.
4. Natural gas unit conversion relationship: 1 ton is approximately equal to 1380 cubic meters.
